Sliding Rock State Park & Sunset at South Rim, Grand Canyon

1/16/11: My friend and I drove up the Grand Canyon from Sedona. Just outside of Sedona we stopped at Slide Rock State Park off of 89A in Oak Creek Canyon. Click on image below to see slideshow on Flickr.

We stopped in Flagstaff to get some supplies for the hike and stay down in the canyon. Arrived at the South Rim in time to catch the sunset before we checked in at Bright Angel and prepped for the hike down South Kaibab in the morning. Click the photo below to see Flickr set on the sunset.

It can seem as though winter will never end in the Northeast.



But it does have its beauty.

Just loaded up pictures from England and Ireland - mainly England. I could have sworn I had more... but I'm sure this is "sufficient". I didn't get any taken while I was working on a conference. Ah well...

Arizona... again

Blogging will still be light for a while. Currently in between trips. Was in Arizona a couple of weeks ago - went to Sedona and the Grand Canyon again, of course. My friend and I took loads of pictures.

Our Stamps - Clay Pendants

Adornyourself, an Etsy ceramic artist I've mentioned earlier who has some of our stamps, has been making ceramic pendants.

Here is a pendant that has been claimed by her daughter. She used one of the triskele stamps from our Celtic Knotwork Triangles set.

And here is a green pendant she made using one of the bubble stamps from the Leaping Fish stamp set. Click the image to see a larger picture - the listing is no longer on Etsy.

Sedona, Grand Canyon and Ceramic Artists

I was in Arizona in mid-January for a conference and had a few days on my own over the weekend of the 19th. I went to Sedona, as I always do when I have the chance, and also up to the Grand Canyon. Click the image below to see the photo album:

So I got a kick when I was recently contacted by a ceramic artist based in Sedona who wanted some of our stamps. Her business is called Red Hot Pottery and you can click here to visit her store on Etsy. She also has a blog here on blogspot.

Shortly after that, I sold a set to another ceramic artist: Adornyourself.etsy.com. She is based in Canada and is new to Etsy, although not new to pottery.

Although we focus on the fact that our stamps can be used for velvet, we have also tried to emphasize that they can be used on other materials as well - clay being one of them. We keep meaning to join the local pottery studio this season so that we can actually play with the stamps and clay ourselves, so that we can post examples, and possibly also have some pieces to sell. We are far from proficient with clay... and have not done anything with clay for years. I was very excited to have ceramic artists purchase stamps and communicated a bit with them. I can't wait to see what they create, as their work is lovely.

And now I really should get back to work!
